Supporting the Arts is a wonderful way to build community. For years it has been known that music soothes the soul, inspires the creativity of the mind, and enriches the spirit. The Blue Ridge Chorale exists to provide cultural and musical enrichment to its members and community. We hope to up lift the hearts and minds of our listeners through song. Blue Ridge Chorale is a community choir that has been serving Culpeper County and surrounding counties since 1967. It began with a few desiring to get together and sing some hymns. With many wonderfully talented directors and accompanists throughout the years, it soon expanded far beyond what the originators had imagined, ending up today with many singers from surrounding counties joining our community choir as we give honor to the many great composers of the present and past.

When are the Concerts?
The WINTER Concert Season begins the second Monday night in September.
The SPRING Concert Season begins the second Monday night in January.
Two or three performances are scheduled each season, in early December and early May.

When are the rehearsals?
* Rehearsals are every Monday night
* Held at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church
* Youth Choir begins at 5:15 pm
* Adult Choir 6:30 to 8:30 pm
* Rehearsals for the spring season begin on the second Monday in January.
* Rehearsals for the winter season begin on the second Monday in September.
* Music is provided by the Chorale and rehearsals are mandatory.
* No auditions are required to join the choir however the Music Director does listen to each new member to learn voice quality and range for proper placement within the choir.

How much does it cost?
* Membership Dues are collected in the amount of $25.00 each season.
* Dues help to defray the cost of sheet music and supplies.
* Discounts apply for additional household members.
* Youth choir members pay no dues at present.
* There is a cost associated with the purchase of required formal concert attire.

How do I join the choir?
Regardless of race, creed, national origin, religion, or handicap, you are welcome to join BRC if you can sing and comply with the requirements of the rehearsals and concerts.

* The Chorale sponsors fundraising endeavors.

* Concert ticket sales and grants
* It takes over $20,000 annually to pay our professional staff and cover our expenses.
