Spring Flower Sale – This Week Only!!

Update: Well, our sale went very well, thanks to you all, and the flowers will be brought to our rehearsal on this Monday, March 25th for pick-up. Special thanks to Joyce Calhoun for wrangling this fundraiser!

The Chorale is selling spring flowers, to be ordered by next Monday, March 18th and delivered on March 25th (which is the Monday before Easter). The choices are: 6″ pots of tulips (mixed colors: 5-6 bulbs per pot), hyacinths (mixed colors: 4 per pot) and white Easter lilies. These are lovely flowers: great for use in the home, and for church or office decoration as well as wonderful gifts for family, friends and shut-ins. All three of these bulb varieties can be planted outdoors for recurring blossoms each spring. The plants cost $8 per pot, with a free pot added to every 7 of the same plants in one order – for instance, ordering 7 pots of tulips will get you 8 at no extra cost.

We are taking orders this week only. Email or call for more information, and get your order to us by next Monday, March 18th. Flowers can be picked up at our rehearsal on Monday the 25th.

As a not-for-profit community chorale, our fundraising proceeds are a major support of our budget. Your participation in our fundraising events is valuable, and we greatly appreciate it!

Christmas Concert 2012!

We had a wonderful Christmas concert season. We sang carols at the Community Tree Lighting in Culpeper, and sang our concert program for and with folks at the Boxwood Center. We then performed an Evening Out concert at Prince Michel Vineyards. Our final “Sing We Now of Christmas” concert was at Reynolds Memorial Church in Sperryville, where we were accompanied by the Culpeper Presbyterian Church Handbell Choir. It was a terrific concert in a beautiful, historic setting, and Reynolds rang with Christmas spirit and joy!

“Out of the Stars” – wonderful!

What a great time we had singing our “Out of the Stars” concerts at the end of April!  We sang up a primordial storm in “Let There Be Light,”  kept our cool through the very moving “Sing Me to Heaven,” reveled in the mysterious “May It Be,”  and enjoyed a diverse and entertaining program of songs. In this photo, Margie Blankenship solos in “True Light.”   The concerts were fun, moving and really great to be part of.

Our Youth and Adult Chorales joined to sing “Child of the Universe.”   We had a multi-media program supporting our concert themes and even a starry, cafe

atmosphere for the concert at Germanna!  See our June Newsletter in Information Updates for more photos and news about our concerts.

Beautiful Spring Flowers!

The Blue Ridge Chorale is raising some much-needed funds by taking orders for spring flowers: white Easter lilies, brightly colored tulips or fragrant hyacinths, blooming in 6” pots.  These plants are grown locally, at Battlefield Farms of Rapidan. The cost is $8 per pot, and if you buy 7, you will get one additional pot for free!  These lovely blooming plants make wonderful decorations for home and business and also are gracious springtime gifts. And, the tulips and hyacinths can be planted outdoors to bloom for many more years!

Orders are due by March 19th, and delivery will be early in the week of March 26th.   Call 540-222-5565 or 540-948-4573 to order flowers.
