Join us on August 25th for our first rehearsal of our new season. Our new Director, Bob Burnett, has planned a beautiful selection of Christmas and winter themed music sure to get everyone in the Holiday spirit. We also welcome our interim accompanist, Jesse Ratcliffe, who joins us while Brittany takes time out to become a first-time mother. And all of our BRC business will be kept in working order by our new Board President, Jodi Stone. It is sure to be a fabulous season with all these new leaders, with fresh ideas, taking their places!
On Friday, July 4th, the Blue Ridge Chorale will participate in the Minute Men Chapter, SAR,’s celebration of the Declaration of Independence. The Chorale will sing a variety of patriotic songs before and during the ceremony, which will start at 11:30 AM on the Courthouse Lawn in Culpeper. This is a free, wonderful family event and a lovely way to commemorate the meaning of July 4th and still get home in plenty of time for hamburgers!
Spring 2014 finds the BRC singing songs from your favorite movies! Join us at one of our two concerts in May to hear memorable music from the movies–including medleys from Disney and James Bond, as well as other silver screen classics!
Join us on November 22 at Prince Michel Vineyards for a 7:00 PM concert with hors d’oeuvres, and wine available for purchase.
On December 1st at 3:00 PM we will be sharing our music at the State Theatre. Tickets may be purchased through their box office at www.culpepertheatre.org
We will be sharing an evening with the Fauquier Community Band at their concert on December 16th at 7:00 at the Warrenton Community Center (430 East Shirley Ave.) “Holiday Voices Unite” is free to the public with a dessert reception to follow.
And don’t forget to join us at the Depot Tree Lighting ceremony on November 24 at dusk.
We had a wonderful time singing our New York concert! The performance at Open Door Church on April 26th hosted and audience of about 125 wonderful folks; on the 29th we sang for a room of about 50 at the Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community and then on May 7th performed before an audience of 350 at the new State Theatre along with 2 of our neighboring chorales: the Bel Canto and the Madison Choral Society, in a celebration of choral music in the area. What a great concert season!
Mark your calendars for the Blue Ridge Chorale’s concert, A New York State of Mind, directed by Carole Tomhave, on Friday, April 26th at Open Door Baptist Church at 7:00 pm. The concert features Broadway music, songs of the City That Never Sleeps, and much more! This will be an evening of music, dance and fun for all ages. Admission will be $10
for adults, $5 for children, and $25 for family, and can be paid at the door. Cafe refreshments will be sold by the Culpeper Band Boosters, and dancers from the Excell Dance Studio will perform. It’s going to be a lively, fun and musical evening, so put on your city clothes and step out to join us in celebrating The Big Apple!
